Talk about a clickbait-y title, yeah? Welcome. You’re about to learn a whole lot about my privates. And by privates, I mean the reaaallllyyyy private bits that ladies aren’t supposed to talk about publicly, but you want to know a secret? Lean in: I think a lady can be whatever tf she wants to be and I’ve never been much for name-calling anyway. So let’s get to the juicy bits (pun not intended, but I’m not editing it out).

I pierced my vertical clitoral hood aka VCH.

I honestly don’t even know what convinced me I wanted to do it, but I just kind of decided I wanted to one day. I remember calling Spider’s Web (my favorite place for piercings and tattoos) and asking how much a VCH (vertical clitoral hood) piercing cost in my most awkward voice. I was so intent on enunciating the letters clearly the first time so they didn’t have any question that I was asking about a :::gasp::: genital piercing. After clarifying that I didn’t need an appointment and that it was within my budget, I went for it.

Here’s what I’ve learned since:

  • For any piercings you’re feeling pretty vulnerable about,  it’s important to go to a reputable shop with a piercer you trust. I will choose Leon over any piercer in the area (I’ve been pierced by a few) every time because while he may seem pretty nonchalant about what he’s doing, it makes me comfortable that him staring at my pussy is just another hole he’s making that day. He made me feel seen and valued, but not super SEEN, you know?
  • The piercing itself doesn’t suck nearly as bad as you think it will. I’ve gotten it pierced three separate times because I’m indecisive af and I honestly think it may be the easiest one even with piercing through the scar tissue. Once they called me back, they had everything sterilized and prepared and I was instructed to remove clothing from my waist down, sit on the chair with the pad, and tuck my feet around the bars at the bottom of the chair. This was to ensure I didn’t jump/move during the piercing. Leon placed a tube thing (idfk the technical term) to “catch” the needle as it went through my hood and that part sucked the most as he moved it to ensure the placement was exactly the best for my individual anatomy. Once everything was perfectly positioned, he told me to take a deep breath and he counted to 3 and I had a new hole! He threaded the curved barbell through the hole, offered me the Sharpie he used to mark the spot for the piercing, and an aftercare card and it was done!
  • As far as aftercare goes, general cleanliness and some extra attention to wiping was really all it took. I have a bidet, so I used that gently to clean myself and I had a constant loop of, “You have piercing” running through my head every time I went to the bathroom so I wouldn’t forget to be extra careful while wiping. I abstained from sex and masturbation for a few weeks and then it was all good! It was BY FAR the fastest healing piercing I’ve gotten.

Once I was healed, I had an interesting experience of almost missing the pain because I’m a freak, but it was also really weird to have the ring constantly rubbing on my clit keeping me pretty much constantly aroused. During sex, though, it got in the way of oral stimulation the way I liked, so I ended up removing it. I think I’ll likely keep it this time (third time’s the charm, right?) and have finally healed it long enough to not have to worry about wiping differently or any special modifications! Overall, I really enjoy the way it feels and I love feeling like I have a special little taboo secret tucked away. It makes me feel edgy and secretly sexy, so that’s definitely a win! I definitely recommend it to anyone questioning it even though I rarely have good things to say about piercings (I’m looking at you, nipples!) and I’m happy to answer any questions privately, so feel free to hit me up in the comments, DMs, or through my Contact form!
