Cloud Cuckoo Land
by Anthony Doerr

Anthony Doerr’s beautiful writing style is evident throughout, but his literary prowess isn’t enough to make this tribute to stories and libraries and books worth the amount of pages. It could have been at least a couple of hundred pages shorter. While I eventually became invested in some of the characters and settings, the fact that the clear antagonist fell into the category of neurodivergent and impoverished really missed the mark for me. This book had such promise, but just didn’t deliver.
