With stunning prose and beautifully strong women, A Woman of Pleasure is a magnificent ode to the power of women, community, camaraderie, and to making the best of your circumstances. While many would argue that the novel is about the women overcoming, I’d like to think it was the women embracing their femininity in the face of adversity.
