The Escape Artist

The more I learn about the Holocaust, the angrier I become at those who stood idly by and let it happen. The responsibility is not simply of those who committed the historic atrocities, but of those who knew and let it happen. I love this story of growth, escape, anger, and perseverance, but mostly I love the protagonist who did not allow himself to be pressured to tell a “redeeming” story of escape and a will to survive.
